Brian Boies
1951 - 2011 - Brian Angus Boies, 59, of New Horton passed away peacefully on January 8th, 2011 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born in Boiestown on December 21, 1951 the son of Angus Boies of Tay Creek and the late Emma (Munn) Boies. He was a mechanic, heavy equipment operator and truck driver. Brian worked for many companies over the years, D&M Autobody, Lenron Trucking Company, Boiestown Lumber, Northrup Homes for 16 years, last working for Killam Properties. He was a jack of all trades and could do anything he set his mind to. He was a member of the Fredericton Legion and was a member of the Boiestown Volunteer Fire Department. He played guitar and enjoyed music, especially the jams held at his home with Betty. He enjoyed his Vulcan 900 motorcycle and lived to ride. Brian had a special place in his hearts for his animals, he loved spending time with his dog, Jackson and cat Skeeter and he really missed his dog, Oskr. Brian was known for his great sense of humour and enjoyed doing humourous skits where he was known as "Abner Weston" from Cornhill. He may have been small in stature but had one of the biggest hearts you would ever find. His family was very important to him and he showed them all how much he cared in so many ways. He was a very special man who will never be forgotten and will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever. He will be deeply missed by his soul mate, Betty Weston of New Horton; son, Adam Boies (Jessica) of Doaktown; granddaughter, Amber; step-daughter, Tracy Best of New Horton; step- son, Troy Best (Meaghan) of Moncton; step-grandchildren, Denise, Teejay and Jake; sister, Linda Boies of Fredericton; brother, John Boies of Boiestown; sister-in-law, Freda Kennie (Donald) of New Horton; brothers-in-law, Ken Weston (Marie) of Moncton and Fred Weston (Norma) of Lower Coverdale. He will also be missed by several nieces and nephews, and by his special animal friends, Jackson and skeeter. Besides his mother he was predeceased by two infant sisters, Annie and Debbie.
The family will be meeting with relatives and friends at the Albert County Funeral Home on Wednesday for a time of sharing before the service from 1:00pm until the time of service at 2:00pm. A Celebration of Brian's Life will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 12th, 2011 at 2:00pm with Rev. Donald Oldford officiating. Interment will be in the Bayview Cemetery, Harvey at a later date. Following the service everyone is invited to join the family at the home of Brian and Betty, 1046 Route 915, New Horton, for a time of further sharing of memories.
