Gerald Harding Eye - 86 of Greenwich, Kings Co. passed away Monday, December 27, 2010 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Wolfville, he was the son of the late George & Ethel (Pick) Eye. In Gerald's earlier years he had farmed. After selling the farm he was employed for 36 years with the Department of Highways. He is survived by his wife the former, Ferne Gertridge; sons; Stephen (Betty Joe), Stratmore, AB; Bryson (Anne), Greenwich; Jeffrey (Glenda Kennedy) Avonport; Kenneth (Elizabeth), Steam Mill; 8 grandchildren; Shawn, Jeremy, Tyler, Kyle, Matthew, Josh, Haley & Chelsea; step-grandchildren: Rickey, Travis, Amanda, Dylan & Tyler; sister, Barbara Eye, Greenwich; Joyce Graham, Mississauga, Ont. Gerald was predeceased by his son, Michael; brothers: Kenneth, Basil, Vernon, Victor & Elliott; sister, Theda. Cremation has taken place. There was no visitation by family request. The memorial service was held 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 31 in the Annapolis Valley Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr. (Exit 14) Coldbrook, N.S. Rev. Gary Manthorne officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in Gaspereau Cemetery. A reception was held at Greenwich Community Hall, Greenwich, following the service.
