DULONG, John Damien - 74, Hubbard's Point, Yarmouth Co., passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2010 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born February 5, 1936 in Hubbard's Point, he was a son of the late Enos and Nellie (Muise) Dulong. Damien served with the Royal Canadian Armed Forces (RCA - artillery) for 25 years, after which he served as an instructor with the Militia in Yarmouth. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 155 Wedgeport. Surviving is his common-law wife, M. Barbara Smith, as well as his children, Randy Dulong, Moncton; Brenda (Albert) Hall, Beaver River; Francine Dulong, Vancouver; a grandson, Jeffery John Hall. Also surviving are a sister, Anna Armith, Vancouver; brothers, Alphie (Gaetin) Dulong, Ontario; Cecil (Ardella) Dulong, Quebec; Lawrence (Sandra) Dulong, Hubbard's Point; Joe (Carol) Dulong, Halifax; Arthur (Janet) Dulong, Hubbard's Point. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Paul Dulong. Visitation took place from 7-9 Thursday, with a Royal Canadian Legion Service at 7:30 p.m., followed by prayers at 8:15 p.m., all in H. M. Huskilson's Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth (902-742-3626). The funeral mass was held on Friday, January 7, at 3:00 p.m. at Saint Anne's Catholic Church, Ste. Anne-du-Ruisseau, Father Maurice LeBlanc, CJM, officiated. Interment took place in the parish cemetery. It was requested that there be family flowers only.
