ROBERTS, Verna Frances - 91, of New Beginnings Boarding Home, Yarmouth, formerly of Argyle, Yarmouth Co., passed away January 7, 2011 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Pubnico, Yarmouth Co. on July 14, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Clinton and Alethia (Hamilton) Spinney. She was a member of the former Glenwood United Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She worked at the Oaks Cabins & Shangri La Farms. Mom was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, always putting others before herself. She will always be loved and greatly missed by her daughter, Ardyth (Randy) Dukeshire, Argyle; grandchildren, Jason (Amy), Canning; Jillian (Darren Perry), Port LaTour; great-grandchildren, Molly and Sarah Dukeshire; brother, Wesley (Sandra) Spinney, Yarmouth. She was predeceased by husband, Darrell; sisters, Doris and Sarah. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny's Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Yarmouth. No visitation by family request. The funeral service began at 3 p.m. Monday, January 10 in Sweeny's Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. A.D. "Bill" Newell officiated. Interment took place in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Argyle.
