(1925-2011) - RICHIBUCTO, NB - Valida Johnson 85, of Richibucto passed away peacefully at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste. Anne de Kent on Sunday, January 9th, 2011. Born in Richibouctou-Village she was the daughter of the late Alphonse and late Zelma (Allain) Boucher. Before retiring Valida had worked as a cook at the Habitant Restaurant for many years. She attended St. Louis de Gonzague Roman Catholic Church, Richibucto. Valida will be sadly missed by her four daughters; Rosa Roy (Dwight Field) of Turtle Creek, Jeanne Johnson (Yves St. Amour) or Orleans, ON, Cecile Richard (Jean-Pierre) of Richibucto, Dorine Johnson (Alain Godin) of North Bay, ON, two sons; Jean Johnson and Yvon Johnson both of Richibucto, twelve grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, two sisters; Geneva Johsnon (Gérard) of Richibucto, Cecile Allain (Jean-Paul) of Worcester, MASS, three brothers; Leon Boucher (Norma) of Fitchburg, MASS, Aquilla Boucher (Doris) of Leominister, MASS, Bernard Boucher (Fay) of Port Charlotte, FL and many nieces and nephews. Valida was predeceased by her parents, her; husband; Livain Johnson, one son; Emile, one sister; Marie and two brothers; Adelin and Henri.
Resting at Thompson's Funeral Home, Richibucto with visitation on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9, Friday at 1:00 pm until departure for the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 14th, 2011 at 2:00 pm, St. Louis de Gonzague Roman Catholic Church, Richibucto. Interment will be in the Aldouane Roman Catholic Cemetery in the spring.
