Born in Number Four, Florence, she was the daughter of Jenny (Carey) Vigneault and stepdaughter of Bill Vigneault.
While Anne attended school in Florence and spent her early days playing with all her cousins and younger siblings in the Florence area, she migrated to the village of Bras d'Or in search of her first job, a clerk at the Bras d'Or Consumers' Cooperators. She worked at various jobs over the next 25 years, MacNeils' Motel and Bras d'Or Texaco restaurant. In 1986 Anne and John assumed ownership of the Arm of Gold Campground where she worked tirelessly to serve the tourists who visited the Bras d'Or area. At the young age of 72, Anne handed over the Arm of Gold Campground and Trailer Park reins to her son and his wife.
During her 60 years as a member of the Bras d'Or community, Anne taught adult night cooking classes, was an advocate for the Down's syndrome, serving as a member of the Canadian Association of the Down Syndrome Society, both at the national and local level, served St. Joseph parish as a hospitality minister, Eucharistic minister and RCIA sponsor, and was an Associate of the Sisters of St. Martha.
Anne is survived by her five daughters, Jean, Bras d'Or, Judy (Bohdam) Wasilewski, Alberta, Joan (Kerry Muir), Florida, Michelle (Pierre Landry), Alberta, and Mary Frances, Bras d'Or; and one son, John (Flora), Bras d'Or. Anne also has eight grandchildren, Pierre and Jennifer Landry, Heather Eaton, Scott Muir, Alexandra and Nicholas Wasilewski and Juliana and Matthew Brennick; and four great-grandchildren, Aaralyn and Felicity Eaton, Nolan Landry and Rylee Dolgin.
