SEFFERN:(nee: Meyer) - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marie Emmeline Catherine Seffern of Swift Current on June 22, 2009 at the age of 95 years. Marie was born on her parents farm in th Onward district, west of Kerrobert, Saskatchewan and attended school at the Ruby Lake district school. She was married to Peter Lealand Seffern and they moved to Swift Current with their family in 1959. Marie was a member of the CWL and a devout member of the Catholic Church. She was also a member of the square dancing club for many years. Marie enjoyed reading, writing in her diary, walking (when she was more able), and spending time with family and friends. Because there was a distance between her and her family, they are especially grateful to her wonderful friends that were always willing to help her out. Marie leaves to mourn her passing; her son Edwin Seffern and his children Sandra (Joseph) Morris, and Brent (Tracy) Seffern; Grandchildren Clifford (Carol) Epp, Rodney (Sylvia) Epp, Wayne (Linda) Epp, Bonnie (Doug) Gramlich, and Alan (Patty) Epp; Brothers Alphonse Meyer, Edwin Meyer, Harold Meyer; Sisters Mildred Cameron, and Gertrude Rose; 20 Great Grandchildren, 12 Great Great Grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Marie was predeceased by her parents Frank and Magdelina Meyer, Husband Peter Lealand Seffern, Daughters Helen Seffern and Irene Epp, Son Keith Seffern, Brothers, Arthur, Albin, Lawrence, Leander, and Walter, as well as Sister, Bertha Hill. A Prayer Vigil was held on Monday, June 29 at 7:00 PM at the Chapel of Warren's Funeral Home with Pastorial Assistant Eileen Zinn officiating. Her funeral service was held on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 2:00 PM from the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Swift Current, Saskatchewan with Father Sathiadas Antony officiating. Interment followed at the Mount Pleasant Burial Park in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. Donations may be made in Marie's memory to the Christ the Redeemer Church Building Fund.
