Margaret Catherine (Beaton) 'Kathleen' Hayes, 60, of Port Hood, passed away peacefully in Inverness Consolidated Hospital on Jan. 12, 2011, surrounded by her loving family.
Born June 30, 1950, she was a daughter of the late Angus Dan and Jessie (MacPhee) Beaton. Kathleen was a member of the St. Peter's parish and Catholic Women's League in Port Hood.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband, James Hayes; sister, Anne; brother, Neil and brother-in-law, Alexander Beaton.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Catherine (Pat) Gillis, Lower Sackville; brothers, A.J. (Annie), Port Hood, Lawrence (Mary), Waltham, Mass.; sister-in-law, Mary Buchanan, Port Hood and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, whom she loved, and who loved her dearly.
Visitation will take place in Port Hood Resting Place today (Friday), Jan. 14, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral will take place at St. Peter's Church on Saturday, Jan.15, 2011 at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at a later date in the parish cemetery.
