It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Isabelle Morrison of Glace Bay on Friday, Jan. 14, 2011 at home.
Born December 5, 1907 to the late Hector and Annie (Daye) Devison of Georges River, CB. She came to Glace Bay at a young age to find work. She was the wife of the late Allan Joe Morrison.
She is survived by sons, Fraser and Hector (Betty); daughter Flo (Gordon) White; daughters-in-law, Barb and Anne Marie (Earl); grandchildren, Sean (Sue), Jackie (Brian), Charlie (Karen), Sandra (Perm), Peggy (Peter), John (Maureen), Colleen, Paulette, Wanda (James), Heckie (Kathie), Derrick, Michelle (Brad), Andrew (Carmen), Kenneth (Cathy) and Amanda; a number of great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren. She is also survived by sister, Mae Devison of Georges River; sisters-in-law, Helen Devison, Flora Nesbitt and Margaret Morrison; and many nieces and nephews; also by caregivers Donna, Alice, Bev, Betty, Crystal and Pauline and all the 'girls' from the County Homemakers. She leaves behind her best buddy Frisky, 'the CAT'.
She was predeceased by sons, Sandy and Butch; brothers, Leo, Andrew, Clevie, Hector, and Mark; sisters, Margaret and Nellie and by daughter-in-law, Margie and also a grandson Donnie.
Isabelle was a kind and gentle soul who prayed for everyone in her life.
The visitation will be in Curry's Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
The Mass of Chirstian burial will be celebrated at St. Leo's Church 11 a.m. Monday with Fr. Leo Boone officiating followed by a reception in the parish hall.
