The death occurred peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown on Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, of Allan J. MacDonald of Little Pond, in his 98th year. Beloved husband of the late Christina MacDonald (nee Mooney). Survived by sons; James L. (Janet) of Marshfield, Reggie of Little Pond, Damien (Lynn) of Little Pond, Aeneas (Donna) of Charlottetown, daughters; Catherine (Gerard) Gallant of Bear River, Mary (Ron) Peach of Lorne Valley and Noreen of Little Pond, also survived by his brothers; Francis and Louis MacDonald of 48 Road. Allan was a proud grandfather of 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and remembered by nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; John F. and Mary MacDonald, also brothers; Walter, John, Fr. William D. and sisters; Emily, Elizabeth, grandson; Nevin and infant child and daughter-in-law; Donelda MacDonald. Resting at the Dingwell Funeral Home in Souris for visiting hours on Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral to be held on Monday afternoon, Jan. 17, 2011, to St Francis De Salles Roman Catholic Church in Little Pond for funeral mass to be celebrated at 1:30 pm. Interment in the parish cemetery.
