ESPIE, Thomas H. Ph.D - Passed peacefully away at the Palliative Care Unit on January 12, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents Harry and Jean, his son Paul Henry and his grandson Harry. Leaving to mourn with fond memories his wife Ailsa Espie of 52 years; his children: Anne (Harry) Strickland, Gillian (James) McRae, Richard and Michael; also leaving seven loving grandchildren: Sara, Virginia, Sheldon, Darcy, Rhys, Thomas and Maxwell; two step-grandchildren: Dysson and Warren. Past Director of Agriculture Canada in Newfoundland and Labrador. Visitation will take place at Carnell's Funeral Home on Sunday, January 16, 2011 from 2-4 p.m. and Funeral Service will take place at the Carnell Memorial Chapel, 329 Freshwater Road on Monday, Jan. 17, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Thomas' memory may be made to the Health Care Foundation.
