Yvon Leger
1924 - 2011 - Yvon Léger, 86 of Saint-Antoine, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness at the Dr Georges L Dumont Hospital, Moncton on Saturday January 15th, 2011. He was married to Georgeline (Caissie) Léger. Born in Saint-Antoine on August 7th, 1924 he was the son of the late Désiré and the late Marguerite (Maillet) Léger. Yvon was a lumberman and worked for numerous years at Eric Goguen et fils Sawmill in Cocagne. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 58 years Georgeline, his four children, Majella Maillet (Noel) of Renaud's Mill, Léonce (Ethel) of Moncton, Omer (Annette) of Saint-Thomas de Kent, Aubrey (Réjeanne) of Bouctouche, nine grandchildren, Georges, Rémi, Rejean, Julie, Alex, José, Sylvio, Martin and Denis, and four great grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn his four sisters, Léona LeBlanc, Geraldine Richard (Henri) both of Saint-Antoine, Geneva Boucher (Joe) of Dieppe, Dora Cormier (Normand) of Moncton and two brothers, Emery (Thérèse) of Cocagne, and Paul (Geraldine) of Saint-Antoine and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by two sisters, Edith (1999) and Edna (2005) and one brother, Eric (1971).
Visitations will be held at the Saint-Antoine l'Ermite Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Saint-Antoine on Monday, January 17th, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and on Tuesday from 2 to 3:45 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at the Saint-Antoine Church on Tuesday, January 18th, 2011 at 4:00 pm with interment in the parish cemetery in the spring. In Yvon's memory donations can be made to the Dr Georges L Dumont Hospital Foundation. Funeral arrangements are in the professional care of Maillet Funeral Home, Bouctouche.
