The passing of Ellery Edward Tucker, husband of Diana (Gillis) Tucker occurred on Sunday January 16, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on September 19, 1947 in Miramichi, NB, he was the son of the late Stanley and Mary (Gillis) Tucker. Ellery was a firefighter for Transport Canada. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and hockey. In addition to his wife, Ellery is survived by his sons, Brian (Kim) Tucker, Ellery Jr. Tucker and Keith Tucker; grandchildren, Christopher, Kyle, Kelsey, Robyn, Colin; sister, Viola Dunn; brother-in laws, Norm Sturgeon, Roy Gillis (Anita), Archie Gillis (Elwanda); sister-in laws, Olive Tucker, Ruth Starsja, Velna Mills (Lloyd), Helen MacDiarmid (John) and Beatrice Leslie (David) and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Ellery was predeceased by five brothers, Edison, Roy, Joseph, Jerome, Anthony; sisters, Bernice Duffy, Robina Underhill and Dolores Sturgeon.
At the family's request, there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at 2pm with Father Monte Peters officiating. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the New Brunswick Heart & Stroke Foundation, Arthritis Society or to the charity of the donor's choice.
