Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, January 14, 2011, Violet S. White of Broad Cove, age 85 years. Predeceased by 1st husband: Alfred Gosney, 2nd husband: Albert White; parents: Arthur and Alice Eddy; brothers: Herbert and Alec Eddy; sisters: Jenny Eddy and Maude Barrett; grandson: Cory Gosney. Leaving to mourn, one daughter: Shirley Younge (Wade 'Jack'), Western Bay; three sons: Ernest (Donna) Gosney, Mount Pearl; Derrick (Karen) and Dennis (Marilyn), both of Broad Cove; eight grandchildren: Dean, Jimmy, Sarah, Nancy, Bradley, Courtney, Dana and Mitchell; eleven great-grandchildren: Kyle, Keisha, Brandon, Cole, Brittany, Meagan, Brooklyn, Tyra, Nicholas, Maggie and Ryan; three brothers: John (Olive) Eddy, Lester (Betty) Eddy and Walter (Ivy) Eddy, all of Swift Current; also a large number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay. Funeral service to take place on Monday, January 17 at 2:00 p.m. from Ocean View United Church, Broad Cove.
