Blanche Izetta Gallant-Gates, 90, wife of the late Arthur Gates passed away on Monday, January 17, 2011 at the Villa Providence, Shediac. Born in Chignecto, N.S., July 3, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Smith and the late Edith Barry. She is survived by her daughter Linda Goguen (Maurice) of Shediac, five sisters: Gladys Smith of Amherst, N.S., Thelma Burbine, Clara White, Elaine Smith and Fern Burbine (Ronald) all of River Hebert, N.S.; a brother Lloyd Smith "Bubby" of Amherst, N.S. and by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her 1st husband Fred Gallant (1971), her 2nd husband Arthur Gates and by two sisters: Alvina Jollymore and Doris Edwards.
Visitation on Tuesday, from 2 to 4p.m. and 7 to 9p.m. and Wednesday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Service which will be held at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 396 Main St., Shediac (532-3297) on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Joseph R.C.
