At the Edmundston Regional Hospital, January 16, 2011, Mrs. Shirley Petersen of Grand Falls passed away at the age of 79. She was the wife of Ray Petersen. Born at Argosy in 1931, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Bernice (Dee) Green. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ray, her five children, Connie of Lethbridge, Alberta, Craig (Janie) of Calgary, Randy (Pierrette) of Drummond, Tim (Nancy) of Saint John and Krista (Dale) of Grand Falls, eight grandchildren, Christopher, Keri, Janik, Robert, Pamela, Sara, Alex and Ashley, great granddaughter, Summer Ann, three sisters, Dorothy (Clayton Record) of Kennebunk, Maine, Beverly (Dale Smyzer) of Pennsylvania and Barbara (Jack Fisher) of California, brother, David (Andrée) of Dartmouth, NS, sister-in-law, Jacinthe Green (late Gregory) of Grand Falls, as well as nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Gregory and an infant sister, Constance.
Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours on Tuesday January 18th from 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 19th at 2 p.m. with Rev. Robert Leblanc officiating. In lieu of flowers, Shirley would have preferred a donation in her memory be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or the Kidney Foundation of Canada. www.oregans.ca
