Paul Russell States - age 54, of Windsor, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2011, in Magnolia Continuing Care Nursing Home, Enfield. Born on August 13, 1956, in Windsor, he was the son of Muriel "Dolly" States, Mount Denson, and the late Laurie States Sr. Paul had been employed at Albert Tracey's and he enjoyed playing cards. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his mother, Muriel "Dolly" States; brothers, Laurie Jr. (Jackie), Toronto; Robert, Toronto; Charles (Donna), Sackville; Michael, Three Mile Plains; Alfred (Elaine), Mount Denson; William (Pat), Three Mile Plains; Willard (Charlotte), Kentville; sisters, Brenda Hamilton, Hantsport; Glenda States (Edward Dixon), Mount Denson; Paulette (Derek) Holligan, Windsor; Sherry States, Mount Denson; and Crystal Forde (Kim Wile), Hantsport; several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his father, Laurie States Sr.; brother, Bradford in infancy; niece, Tara Lee Arenburg. Visitation was held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor. Funeral service held 2 p.m. Wednesday, January, 5, 2011 in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home Chapel. Lay Pastor Galvin Simmonds officiated. Interment was in the Mount Denson Baptist Cemetery, Mount Denson. Donations in memory of Paul, were requested to be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Kidney Foundation of Nova Scotia. Paul's family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Unit 200 at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, for the care they gave Paul, especially his favorite nurse, Melanie Riley.
