Sieta (Sietske) Vander Heide - 64, of Prospect Road, North Alton, Kings County, while surrounded by her family, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, January 14, 2011 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. After many years of illness, she succumbed to complications arising from Meningitis. Born in Leeuwarden, Friesland, The Netherlands, she was a daughter of the late Engbert and Roelfien (DeLange) Tenyenhuis. Sieta immigrated to Canada with her family in 1958 and married Clarence in 1968. Throughout her life, Sieta loved and served her church and church family. Sieta always put others first, and shared her joy, laughter and generosity with everyone: "Bloom where you are planted" was her life motto. She is survived by her husband, Clarence, two daughters, Lisa (James) Sitser, Shubenacadie East; Rosella (Paul) Hutten, Kentville; two sons, Eric (Carolyn), Kentville; Leon (Vanessa), Cambridge Station; three sisters, Lainey (John) Rozema, Sarnia, Ontario; Elsina (Frank) Radsma, Jordan, Ontario; Gretha (John) Hutten, Centreville, Kings County; three brothers, Gerrit "Jerry" (May), Kentville; John (June), Etobicoke, Ontario; Elzo (Marijke), Kincardine, Ontario; sister-in-law, Barb Tenyenhuis, Thorold, Ontario; eight grandchildren, Thomas and Emily Sitser, Rebekah, Alanna, Elliot and Miriam Hutten, Landyn and Kelland Vander Heide, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Lammert. Public visitation will be held from 4-6 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2011 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. A public interment service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, January 20, 2011 in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings County, followed at 4:00 p.m. with a public memorial service to be held in the Christian Reformed Church, 118 Oakdene Avenue, Kentville, Pastor Norman Visser officiating. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation.
