Joseph Ralston MacNeil

Died peacefully at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, Joseph Ralston MacNeil "Hummer" of Lambton Shores, Ontario, in his 74th year.
Beloved husband of Barb (Johnston) and loving father of Susan McKenzie of Lambton Shores and Cheryl MacNeil of London. Special Poppa to Katelin, Kyle and Jason.
Born in Westville, he was a son of the late Robert Henry MacNeil and Gertrude (Wright).
He is survived by sisters: Edith Schenk of Torrington, Conn.; Lorraine Muirhead, Westville; and Doreen (Larry) Briggs, Montreal.
He was predeceased by his twin brother, Willard (Butch); brothers, Edison (Bud) and John Henry, and sister, Elsie Stewart.
Also survived by several nieces and nephews, and sisters-in-law, Gloria and Ella; and brother-in-law, Herb.
Joe was a member of the Canadian Armed Forces, Royal Canadian Regiment, London, Ont. for 38 years and a memorial service was held at the Grand Bend Legion on Sunday, November 28 by the Rev. Frank Mantz, Chaplain of the RCR Association from London. Also participating were fellow members of the RCR Association and fellow members of the Grand Bend Legion.
Joe had been the Sergeant-at-Arms at the Grand Bend Legion for over 20 years and Service Officer for many years. He was Poppy Chairman for 2010 and received a life membership in the Legion in 1999.
