Fraser MacLean

BRAESHORE - A. Fraser MacLean, 81, of Braeshore, Pictou County, passed away January 20, 2011 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born on Pictou Island, he was a son of the late William and Cora Jane (MacCallum) MacLean.
A member of First Presbyterian Church, Pictou, Fraser served as an elder for more than 40 years. He was also a Past Noble Grand of Eastern Star I.O.O.F. Lodge, No. 1, Pictou, and a member of the Pictou Lions Club. He worked at various jobs over the years, retiring from Northumberland Ferries Ltd.
Fraser is survived by his wife, Lois (MacKay); daughter, Sheila (Michael) Tobin, Braeshore; nephews, Bill (Ann) MacDonald, Owen (Jean) MacDonald and Wayne (Gail) MacKinnon, all of Pictou; nieces, Janice O'Hearn, and Alice (Theodore) MacLean, both of Pictou.
He was predeceased by brother, Hughie; sisters, Alice, Viola, Jean and Annabelle.
Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service will take place 2 p.m. Tuesday from First Presbyterian Church, Pictou, with Rev. Iona MacLean officiating. Burial will be in Seaview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, or the S.P.C.A.
