COLLINS, Llewelyn - July 30, 1932 - January 15, 2011. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Llewellyn Collins of Lewisporte announce that he passed away peacefully at the North Haven Manor on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011 at the age of 78. He retired as a chief cook on the Marine Atlantic boats. In his early years he spent many hours working on building his own camper and modifying his boat. His family was his life and he gave to them endlessly. Llewellyn was predeceased by his parents, Allan and Irene and his granddaughter Alice. He will be forever loved and missed by his loving wife of 55 wonderful years, Phyllis; sons: Tony (Susann), Byron (Valerie), Lorne (Krista), Larry; daughters: Suzanne, Lisa (Gerard); 10 grandchildren: brother Eric; sisters: Armoel, Myrtle, and Jean. Also leaving to mourn is a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at the St. Paul's Anglican Church, Lewisporte by Rev. Bruce Vallis and Rev. Calvin Coates on Jan. 19, 2011. Interment was at the Anglican Cemetery. Funeral arrangement entrusted to Gordon Woolfrey's Funeral Home, Lewisporte. Pallbearers were his sons Tony Collins, Larry Collins, Lorne Collins, his grandson Ryan Collins, his nephews Allan Hoddinott and Dennis Dawe. Donations in his memory may be made to the Ronald MacDonald House Newfoundland and Labrador.
