Mr. Ronald Earle Matchett, husband of Norma (Tower) Matchett of Frances Street, Miramichi passed away Friday January 21st, 2011 at Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 75. Born in Newcastle NB, he was the son of the late Lorne and Helen (Thomson) Matchett. He was an Entrepreneur. He was a member of St James & St John United Church and also a member of Northumberland Lodge # 17 F & AM. He enjoyed his travels to many parts of the world. Dad's happiest time were with family and friends at his cottage in Escumanic.. Besides his wife Norma he is survived by three daughters, Linda Stevens (John) of Miramichi, Beth Gorman (Jeff) of Miramichi, Cheryl Clark (Jim) of Edmonton AB, one son, Robert (Bob) Matchett (Sheryl) of Moncton, three sisters, Barbara Waye of Miramichi, Evelyn Mann of Toronto ON, Merilyn Williams (Bob) of Miramichi, eight grandchildren, Michael and Sheryl Stevens, Brittany and Jack Clark, David and Andrew Matchett, Jane and Katelyn Gorman. Besides his parents he was predeceased by three brothers, Dr. Beverly Matchett, Jack Matchett and Carl Matchett, one sister, Arlene McKenzie, one niece, Dr. Cathy Matchett.
Mr. Ronald Earle Matchett is resting at Davidson's Funeral Home, 597 Old King George Hwy, Miramichi, with visitation on Monday, January 24th, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 25th, 2011 at 11 a.m. from St James & St John United Church, Miramichi, with Rev. John Fraser officiating. Burial will be in Miramichi Cemetery in the spring. In Ronald's memory donations to a local memorial of ones choice would be appreciated.
