Peacefully and surrounded by her family at Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011 of Elizabeth (Bessie) Folland nee (MacDonald) of Summerside, age 98. Born in Bedeque, P.E.I. on Oct. 12, 1912 to the late Ronald and Elizabeth MacDonald. Bessie was the last surviving member of her family. She is survived by her daughters Theresa McIver, Joyce Rooney (Gordie), Helen Green (Gerry) and her son John (Bud) Folland (Rosalie). Also a sister in law Eva MacDonald. Predeceased by husband Roland in 1938; brothers Frank, Austin, Joseph and sisters Mae, Maud, Beatrice, Cecelia, Alice and Katherine, son-in-laws, Eugene McIver and Joe Rooney and grandchildren David Green, Eugene (Jr.) and Michael McIver and Margaret Alice Folland. She is survived by 21 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren and 13 great, great grandchildren. Remains resting at Lawless Funeral Home, Kinkora for visitation on Tuesday, Jan. 25 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, Jan. 26, 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Church in Seven Mile Bay. Memorials in memory of Bessie may be made to the Prince County Hospital Foundation. Interment will take place in the church cemetery at a later date.
