NICKERSON, Herbert "Hoover" 82, West Head, Shelburne Co., passed away peacefully on Friday, January 7, 2011 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in The Hawk, he was a son of the late Fred and Cora Nickerson. He was a fisherman all of his working life; although he was most comfortable being at home. He enjoyed his hunting trips in Newfoundland and Prince Edward Island, where he spent special times with his friends and grandchildren. His favourite pastimes were feeding his many feathered friends, making his nightly phone calls, carving his decoys, drives to The Hawk and special times with his grand-children and great grandchildren. Hoover was the husband of 60 years to Joyce; father to children, Bonnie (Millard) Symonds, Newellton; Rosanne (Murray) Goulden, Churchover; Timothy (Susan), Argyle Head; Marshall, Dartmouth; Maxine (Craig) Smith, North East Point; Carla (Corey) Banks, Shag Harbour; Grampy to 10 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, Everett and Clair (Isabelle), The Hawk. He was predeceased by brothers, Leslie, Clinton, Eldon; sisters, Ruth and Edna Messenger.
