We are saddened to announce the passing of Denys on Sunday January 16th, 2011. Denys passed away peacefully at the Cypress Regional Hospital, following a short illness. He was the middle child born to Ingvald and Nance(Annie Dorothy Alice Mathews) Pederson of Leyton District, east of Kyle. Denys is survived by brother-in-law Gordon Nelson and his sons Lynn (Sharon) & Greg (Yvonne), along with his niece Maureen Rempel (Tim) and nephews: Dean (Verna), Glen (Rheanne), Mel (Sherry) Pederson & their families & special companion Renz Struik. He was predeceased by his parents as well as, brother Norman, sister-in-law Esther, sister Mildred and long-time companion Gladys Bell. Den spent his life until retirement, farming and raising cattle on the family farm. His love of animals, especially horses, both riding and his teams, was always an important part of his life. Den spent many hours at, and was a faithful supporter of the local hockey teams and Kyle Community Rodeo. At home he enjoyed watching boxing, NHL hockey games and baseball.
