Leo Bastarache
Léo "Porky" Bastarache, 82, of Moncton, passed away on Tuesday January 25, 2011 at the Villa du Repos. Born on September 28, 1928 in Moncton, NB, he was the son of the late Calixte and Annie (Cormier) Bastarache. Léo was a member of the Air Force Vets Club. He was a former checkers champion in the New Brunswick Checkers League. He was also an avid pool player and loved playing cards, especially "200". He was predeceased by his wife Lina Melanson and four brothers: Edgar, Ernest, François and Euclide.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until departure (10:45).
