Phillip Steele
1966-2011 - Phillip L. Steele, 44, of Halifax and formerly of Hillsborough passed away suddenly on January 25th, 2011 in Halifax. He was born in Hillsborough on August 19th, 1966 the son of Leslie David Steele III and the late Phyllis (O'Connor) Steele. Phillip graduated from Caledonia Regional High School and Acadia University. He worked with Revenue Canada in the Taxation Department. Music was Phillip's passion, he was very talented. He sang in the Hillsborough School Choir in his school days and also sang and played the organ and piano at the First Hillsborough Baptist Church when he was younger. He could play any air instrument, he use to say he played everything except the trumpet, which was easier than listing the instrument he did play. He also taught piano to many students. He was an avid collector and had a extensive stamp and coin collection. He also loved antiques. He had a special place in his heart for animals and especially his cat Bubbles, that he spoiled rotten. Phillip was a quiet guy who always had a smile for everyone he met. He will be remembered for his gentle ways and for his great sense of humour. He will be deeply missed by his father, Leslie David Steele III of Hillsborough; sister, Pamela Steele (Paul Roy) of Moncton; sister-in-law, Bonny Steele of Hopewell Hill; his nephews, Tyler, David and Michael and his best friend for the past 16 years, Ron Richards and his family. He will also be sadly missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and by his cat, Bubbles. Besides his mother he was predeceased by brother, Leslie David Steele IV.
