TUCKER, Emmie - 99, The Mira Long Term Care Centre, passed away peacefully, with close friends by her side, on Wednesday afternoon, January 26, 2011, at the home. Born November 14, 1911, in Czecholslovakia, she was a daughter of the late Leopold and Yosefa (Kirpal) Seidel. Emmie worked as an administrator at a chocolate factory in Czechoslovakia and immigrated to Canada after the Second World War. She was a long-time member of Salvation Army, Truro Corps, loved to cook and sing and took great pleasure in the beauty of nature around her. Emmie is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Albert Harold Tucker and was predeceased by several sisters and brothers. Albert would like to thank the dedicated staff at The Mira for the love and care shown to Emmie over the past few years. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Emmie's family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m., Saturday, January 29, 2011, and where the funeral service will be held 4 p.m., Sunday, January 30, 2011, Captain Stephen McNeilly officiating. Spring interment in Crossroads Cemetery, Valley. If so desired, donations in Emmie's memory to Salvation Army, Truro Corps or The Mira (Recreation Fund) are welcomed.
