Edward (Ted) was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on May 26, 1927, the youngest in his family and passed away in Kamloops, B.C. on January 25, 2011.

He grew up in Winnipeg and married Marie on February 14, 1953 in Saint Peters Church in New Westminster, B.C. In 1954 they started their family. Ted was passionate about the outdoors, enjoying his hunting and fishing trips and time spent with his family and friends. From time to time he enjoyed talking about growing up in Winnipeg. He loved to have kids around the house and enjoyed bugging them. Ted served in the military for 26 years serving during war and peace times and was always happy around his army friends. Ted was a scout troop leader and would do anything for his troops.

Ted is survived by his loving wife Marie Lester and his children Ester Marie (Harold) Stanton, Raymond Eugene (Jenny) Lester, Joanne (David) Dyck and William Wayne (Victoria) Lester. He also leaves to cherish his memory his grandchildren Jamie Lyne Lester, Dean Jay Baker, John Dyck, Nathon Dyck, Erica Dyck, Nina Lester, Elain Lester, Mark Lester, Christa Lester, Jessica Lester and Eva Lester, great grandchildren Codie, Caliese, Daegan and Brook.

Ted was predeceased by his mother Marie Leonise (Sansregret) Lester in 1965, his father George Edward Lester in 1954, brother George Marshall Lester in 1945, sisters Alice Josephine Redman and Elizabeth (Betty) Florence Blake-Knox, son George Edward Lester in 1998 and granddaughter Kyla Marie Baker in 1981.

He will be missed by all.

Prayers will be recited in Holy Family Catholic Church, 2797 Sunset Dr., on Monday, January 31, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. Father Fred Weisbeck will celebrate the Funeral Mass in the Church on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 1:00 p.m.
