1927 - 2011

Dorothy Jean Harris-Scalzo of Kamloops passed away peacefully on January 26, 2011.

At her side were her beloved George, her son Paul and his wife Robin. She is also survived by her son Bob, six grandchildren (Elizabeth, Phillip, Carly, Riley, Sam, and Joe), four great grandchildren, and her sister-in-law Sylvia Harris.

She was predeceased by her parents, Marjorie and Les Silver and her first husband Squadron Leader (RCAF) John Harris, CD.

Born in London, Ontario on June 24, 1927 Dorothy was an independent thinker who thrived on travel and golf. Devoted to her family and friends, she gave her time freely to them all without expectation of anything in return. Her final days were spent in comfort and serenity in the care of the compassionate staff and volunteers of the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice Home in Kamloops. She left us knowing she had enjoyed a full life and that her time had come.

There will be no formal service by request; Dorothy's life may be commemorated by donation to the Kamloops Hospice Association, 72 Whiteshield Crescent S, Kamloops, B.C., V2E 2S9.
