Walter Munn

Peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB, on January 28, 2011, Mr. Walter Irvine Munn, husband of Mrs. Seretha E. (Anthony) Munn of Blacks Harbour NB. Born at Blissfield Parish NB on March 23, 1924, he was a son of the late John A. and Emily E. (Price) Munn. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, in addition to his wife Seretha, he is survived by 5 sons; Johnny (Linda) Munn of Blacks Harbour NB, David (Dianne) Munn of Pocologan NB, Tony (Kim) Munn of Pennfield NB, Ronnie (Lori) Munn of Quispamsis NB and Phillip (Shelley) Munn of Fredericton, three daughters; Lillian (Edgar) Guitard of Blacks Harbour NB, Beverley (Claude) Aucoin of Pennfield NB and Janice (Danny) Mullins of Pennfield NB, 20 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, two brothers; Aussie (Geraldine) Munn of Calais ME and Cecil (Edna) Munn of Ludlow NB and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one son, Charles, one daughter, Lorraine Mahar and by one granddaughter, Mellissa Munn. Prior to his retirement, Walter worked for Connors Bros., Can and Cover Division and Decorator for 40 years. He was an avid reader, especially the Bible and in his later years enjoyed listening to the Gospel on tape. He enjoyed telling stories to his grandchildren and making his family laugh. Walter served in the Canadian Army from 1942 - 1944. He was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Blacks Harbour NB.
Resting at the United Pentecostal Church, Blacks Harbour NB from where the service will be held on Monday at 2 pm. The interment will take place at the St. George Rural Cemetery in the spring. Visiting at the church on Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. In Walter's memory, donations to the United Pentecostal Church Blacks Harbour Building Fund, the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
