Dorothy Bursey
Surrounded by her family, the death of Dot Bursey, wife of Harold Bursey occurred on January 30, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was born on August 31, 1936 at Saint John to the late Walter and Harriet (Rolfe) Walsh. Dorothy was a snowbird who enjoyed vacationing in Florida for the past 16 years. She loved doing crafts, tole painting and especially loved spending time with her family. Besides her loving husband, Dot is survived by her daughter, Ann King (Brian); two sons: Frank Godsoe (Amy) and Stephen Godsoe (Pauline); two step-sons: Jim Bursey (Helene) and Greg Bursey (Kathy); two step-daughters: Cheryl McQuinn (Walter) and Carolyn Burns (Mike); three brothers: Stephen Walsh (Olive), Ronald Walsh (Rene) and Stuart Walsh (Vivian); sister, Anna Carr (George); one sister-in-law, Anita Ekstrom; three grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; first husband, Frank Godsoe; brother, Walter and four sisters: Jean, Barbara, Agnes and Evelyn.
Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at 12 Noon. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery.
