Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's on Saturday, January 29, 2011, J. Stratford Pike of Carbonear, age 84 years. Predeceased by wife: Mary; parents: Stratford Canning Pike and Jessie; brothers: Joseph and Alfred. Leaving to mourn, one daughter: Stephanie (Leo) Harlick, St. John's; one son: Stephen, Ochre River, Manitoba; five grandchildren: Michael, Tim (Ania Polomska), Chris, Lindsay and Cameron; two great-grandchildren: Amena and Akira; one brother: Leonard (Melba), Happy Adventure; two sisters: Joan (Wallace) Farnham, Florida and Mary (Kelvin) Barrett, St. John's; brother-in-law: Reginald (Flora) Crane, St. John's; sisters-in-law: Phyllis Pocock, Sudbury, Ontario and Ruth Pike, St. John's; also a large number of other relatives and friends. The family will receive relatives and friends at Noel's Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Wednesday, February 2 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Funeral service to take place on Wednesday, February 2 at 2:00 p.m. from Bethany United Church, Carbonear. Interment in Bethany United Cemetery, Carbonear.
