Kenneth Wayne Archer - 56, of Kentville, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2011 in the QEII Health Sciences Centre, VG Site, Halifax. He was a son of Mildred Bernice Cleveland, Berwick. He was a lifelong fan of the Montreal Canadiens. Overcoming his disabilities, he worked as a cook at the Cornwallis Inn and enjoyed selling the fruits and vegetables that he helped harvest. Ken was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Kings Branch No. 6, Kentville and Ortona Branch No. 69, Berwick, for a number of years. In addition to his mother, he is survived by three brothers, John (Jan) Cleveland, Gaspereau Valley; Charles Cleveland, Berwick; Clyde Cleveland, London, Ontario; aunts and uncles, Helen and Bob, Shirley, Hartley, Rose, Joey, Thelma and Bill; nieces and nephews, Michael Archer, Richard Adams, John Gibson, Glenn Bailey, Sue Bailey, Mary Gibson as well as several other nieces and nephews. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2011 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, was held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 27, 2011. Burial will take place at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
