POTHIER, Laurie Joseph - 93, Upper Wedgeport passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2011 in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born March 22, 1917 in Wedgeport, he was a son of the late Simeon and Minnie (Pothier) Pothier. Laurie worked as an electrical contractor and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Branch No. 6505. He was also a member of the Wedgeport Senior's Club and loved to play cribbage. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Elizabeth Anne (Pothier); children, Richard (Sharon), Milton (Cecile), Gerald (Bonnie) and Patrick; grandchildren, Jeffery, Heather (Patrick Muise), Scott, David (Beth), Jennifer (Andrew Schleit) and Mary; great-grandchild, Lila. Aside from his parents he was pre-deceased by his sister, Jeanette Cottreau; brother, Bruno; and sister Seretha in infancy. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Huskilson's Funeral Home & Crematorium, Yarmouth, and visitation was held Tuesday, January 25 from 7-9 PM with Prayers at 8 PM in the Huskilson's Funeral Home, Wedgeport. A memorial service was held Wednesday January 26 at 11 AM from the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Wedgeport. Faher Papuga officiating. Interment to follow in the parish cemetery.
