Sharon Mae Courtney, age 53 yrs. of Swift Current,SK passed away January 22, 2011 at The Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon, SK. A Funeral Mass was held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, January 27, 2011 from Christ The Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, Swift Current, with Father James Owolagba as Celebrant. The ushers were Carter Grant and Derek Dahl, the honorary pallbearers were "All who shared in her life" and a eulogy was presented by Virginia MacDonald at the reception. Cremation followed, with interment at a later date. Sharon is survived by four daughters: Vanessa Hill, Christina Hill, Kimberely Courtney and Clarissa Faulkner, all of Swift Current; eight grandchildren: Josie, Zsjena, Memphis, Shiann, Ashlynn, Courtney, Austin, Ryker and Taylor; one great grandchild Keegan; eight siblings: Harold, Darrel, Donald, Kenny, Lynn, Cindy, Gloria, Marie and families and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her mother: Clara Courtney (Oct. 1977), father: Ronald Courtney (Feb. 1987), grandmother Angela Whiteford and grandfather Harry Whiteford. Sharon was born in Calgary, AB, July 10, 1957. Upon moving to Swift Current she attended St. Joseph's Catholic School and the Swift Current Community College. She was employed for many years at Modus Modular Structures Inc. Her special interest included: dancing, camping, puzzles, walking, she loved to be with her grandchildren, spending time with family and friends. She spent most of her life in Swift Current, but spent time in Moose Jaw, where she made many close friends. Her nicknames were Sonny, Sharky and Bones. Sharon will be deeply missed and remembered by everyone who shared in her life. Donations to the Alzheimers Society or to a charity of the donor's choice, would be appreciated by the family.
