At the Falls Villa (Grand Falls Manor), January 30, 2011, Mrs. Cecile Violette of Saint-Leonard passed away at the age of 95. She was the wife of the late Wilfred H. Violette. Born at Van Buren, Maine in 1915, she was a daughter of the late Philippe and Laura (Cormier) Michaud. Mrs. Violette was a member of the Saint-Leonard Daughters of Isabella. She and her husband owned and operated several area Ford/Mercury dealerships for many years as well as a farming operation. She is survived by three children, Philip (Pauline) of Edmundston, Robert (Sylvia) of Grand Falls, Rachel Clair (James) of Fredericton, 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one son, Joel, two brothers, Harvey Michaud and Rev. Lawrence Michaud and one sister, Irene Belanger.
Resting at O'Regan's Chapel, 83 Saint-Antoine Street, Saint-Leonard with visiting hours on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 2nd at 11 a.m. from the Saint-Leonard Roman Catholic Church with interment in the adjoining cemetery.
