Passed away at the Placentia Health Centre on January 31, 2011, Nellie Wadman (Nee Grant) of Freshwater, formerly from Corbin and Bar Haven. Predeceased by her parents Benjamin and Elizabeth; sisters Meline and Laura; and her brother Robert. She will be sadly missed by her long time companion Charlie Hickey; her three children: Glenn (Rita), Valerie and Barry (Pauline); brother Jim; sisters: Bride, Kay, Mary, Violet, Theresa and Anne; her grandchildren: Wendy, Debbie, Brian, Liam and Alisa; great-grandchildren: Alexander, Crystal and Cara; as well as many other relatives and friends. Special thanks to the loving and supportive staff at the Gateway Residence and the care and compassion shown by the staff at the Placentia Health Centre. Resting at Maher's Funeral Home, Placentia. Visitation will take place 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday. Funeral Mass will take place 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Holy Rosary Church, Freshwater. Inurnment to follow at the Dermot McGettigan Memorial Cemetery, Southeast. Reception will then take place at Freshwater Community Centre.
