Joyce Edith (Creed) Chapman, aged 93 years of Chardon, USA and formerly of Springhill, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2009 in Middlefield, USA. Born on November 22, 1915 in Folkstone, England, she was a daughter of the Late Frank and Alice Jessie (Beaton) Creed.
Joyce served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during WW II, retiring after 20 years of service. Following her retirement from the Air Force she worked as a department store clerk for another 25 years. She attended many Air Force reunions over the years; was very active in her Church and enjoyed baking "specialties" for her many family and friends her whole life.
She is survived by her brother, Ernest Ross Creed, Ontario; sister, Margaret Horvath Watson, Tubac, Arizona; nieces, Betsy Horvath Skolaris, Joyce Horvath, Marlene Creed Quirk and nephews, Frank Creed and Edward Creed.
She was predeceased by a brother, Frank C. Creed.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, July 11, 2009 in All Saints Anglican Church, Springhill, with Reverend Marilyn Haugen-Strand officiating. Burial in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill.
