It is with great sadness that the family of the late Jason William Matchem announce his sudden passing on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at the age of 25 years. He will be sadly missed by his mom Deborah (Lorne Maxwell); his two brothers: Frank (Kayla) and Mark (Raelyn Brian) of Calgary, AB; his niece Destiny; his nephew Frankie; grandmothers: Marcella Young and Shirley Hann; uncles, aunts & cousins; as well as a large circle of friends. He is predeceased by his father Frank who passed away on December 28, 2009 and his grandfather George Young who passed away on February 20, 2008. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the RNC, RCMP, Search & Rescue, the public and Sergeant Ogden for all their time and effort that went into bringing Jason home. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Friday, February 4, 2011 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. at Country Haven Funeral Home Chapel with Major Frank Johnson officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jason Matchem Fund at the Bank of Montreal or to the Search and Rescue.
