1943 - 2011 - Phyllis Marilyn DeWolfe, 67, of West River passed away peacefully on February 1st, 2011 at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital. Phyllis was born in Hopewell Hill on February 18, 1943 the daughter of the late Thomas and Katie (Tucker) Davis. Phyllis was a member of the Hopewell Hill Baptist Church and also belonged to the West River United Church Women, baking and helping out whenever needed. She was a hard worker and worked at many jobs over the years. Working at the Alpine Motor Inn in Alma for several years, ran the DeWolfe Family Restaurant in Alma, was a Senior Caregiver and also did housekeeping and babysitting for several families in the community. Phyllis's door was always open for a cup of tea. She took great pleasure in quilting and crocheting, having several quilts she was very proud of. She will be remembered for her sense of humour and for her smile. She was a very special lady who will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever. She would want all her family and friends to treasure the good times they had together. "What we keep in memory is ours forever." She will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 51 years, Meldon; her children, John DeWolfe (Terry) of West River, Michael DeWolfe of Alma and daughter, Lia DeWolfe of West River; her cherished grandchildren, Justin, Laura, Thomas; step grandchildren, Kassondra and Alain; great grandchildren, Aiden and Alexis; sisters, Sheila Claridge (Albert) of Waterside, Brenda Lyman (Leland) of West River, Linda Upham (Fraser) of Hopewell Hill, Judy Best (Charles) of Weldon; brothers, Thomas Jr Davis (Connie) of Alton, NS, Ernest Davis (Gloria) of Pine Glen, Dean Davis of Vancouver and Paul Davis (Peggy) of Shepody; brother-in-law,Michael Steeves of Lower Cape; sister-in-law, Aileen Johnston of West River. She will also be sadly missed by her special niece, Kathy Tower (Kenny) of Germantown and by several nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents she was predeceased by sisters Edna May Davis and Carol Steeves; brother-in-law, Floyd DeWolfe and special nephew, Robert DeWolfe.
She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Friday, February 4th, 2011 at 2:00pm. The family will be meeting with relatives and friends following the service for further sharing of memories and for refreshments at the funeral home. Donations to the Kidney Foundation, Hopewell Hill Baptist Church or to the charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
