Marilyn Theresa MacIsaac
Passed in: Scotchtown, Nova Scotia, Canada
With heavy hearts we sadly regret to announce the passing of Marilyn Theresa MacIsaac (MacDonald), having fought a courageous battle with cancer on Jan. 31, 2011, at New Waterford Hospital.
Marilyn was the daughter of the late Neil and Catherine MacDonald of Scotchtown.
Marilyn is survived by her son, Neil; stepdaughters, Cathy Dupe (Sheldon), Wendy Penney (Kevin); stepson, Gordie; and former husband and friend, Raymond (Inta) MacIsaac. Also left to mourn are her special grandchildren, Catherine and William MacIsaac, their mother, Sheila Poulton; Christopher Penney, Kyle Penney, Loretta Dupe, Vanessa Dupe; many nieces, nephews and also our extended Campbell family.
Marilyn was a kind, friendly and compassionate lady, always ready to share her wonderful sense of humour with laughs and smiles. As a caregiver, Marilyn touched and inspired many lives 'sprinkling' each with her own magical formula of love.
Ma's love and passion for animals, especially her dog Shadow was not to be exceeded by her love for dance. Sadly, 'Dancing with the Stars' missed out on a true winner.
Marilyn will be sadly missed by her very close special friends, Annette Campbell, Louise MacKinnon, Simone Campbell, Jacklyn MacGillivary and Mary Canova.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Neil (Neilox) MacDonald, Bernie Farrell, sister, Catherine MacNeil, Sydney, and her companion, Gordon (Corn) Longphee.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral mass of celebration will be held Friday, Feb. 4 at 2 p.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard, Mount Carmel Avenue, with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. Burial will be in St Michael's Cemetery, River Ryan, with a luncheon to follow at the Army, Navy, Airforce, Unit 217, New Waterford.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice/Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton.
A heartfelt thank you to the staff of the New Waterford Hospital, second floor medical, for all their care, support, compassion, many smiles and endless cups of tea.
Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.vjmcgillivray.ca.
