The death of Valerie Joseph LeBlanc, 84, of Lakeville, occurred at the Moncton City Hospital on Saturday, June 27, 2009. Born in Port Elgin, he was the son of the late Alfred and Lena (Richard) LeBlanc. Val was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #6, Moncton. He was a popular and accomplished accordian player. He also loved to dance and he and his predeceased wife, Isabel, were a great dance team. Val will be sadly missed by his two daughters, Kathy (Bill) Andrews, of Sackville and Karen (Todd) Robson of Markham, ON; one grandson, Reed Robson; two step-grandchildren, Ross and Karla Andrews; one step-great-grandchild, Jason; three sisters, Evelyn, Merita, and Claudette; special friend Florine Richard. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Isabel (nee Irvin); and three sisters, Florence, Genevieve, and Christine. Val¹s remains were entrusted into the care and supervision of Jones Funeral Home, Port Elgin.  Visitation was held from the funeral home on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. from Saint Timothee Roman Catholic Church, Shemogue on Thursday, July 2, 2009. Val was buried next to his wife in the Parish Cemetery following the service.
