John Francis Blackwood, 58, Bay Street, Sydney, passed away Tuesday, Feb.1, 2011, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Newfoundland and raised in New Waterford, Francis was the son of the late William and Lucy Blackwood.
He was employed as a cab driver with City Wide Taxi.
Surviving are his loving companion, Brenda Hall; daughters, Andrea, Tracy, Yolanda and Mary; sons, William and Bernie; stepdaughters, Jessica and Sarah and 17 grandchildren.
A celebration of Francis' life will be held 6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, at Sydney Memorial Chapel. Interment will take place at a later date.
