1940 - 2011 - Dennis Richard Johnson, beloved husband of Nancy (Blakney), passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday, Feb 2nd following a lengthy illness. Born in Lutes Mountain, he was the son of the late Gerald and Mayme (Shaffer) Johnson. As well as his parents, Dennis was predeceased by five brothers Lorimer (Lou), George, Frederick, Gerald and Donald. In addition to his wife Nancy, Dennis is survived by one son Jody (Laura) of Revelstoke BC, three brothers Sterling (Elizabeth), Michael (Linda), and Jim (Marla); one sister Janet (Eugene) Orr, all of the greater Moncton area, as well as several nieces and nephews. Dennis was also extremely close to the Blakney family and will be sadly missed by brothers-in-law Guy (Emily), Tom (Shirley), Russ (Joyce), Richard (Sharon) and Danny (Judy). Mr Johnson was retired from his employer of over forty years, MacDonald Pontiac Buick (formerly Steeves Motors), with his last position being that of Business Manager. As well as his love of cars, Dennis was an avid golfer and loved the time spent pursuing both.
Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home with visitation on Friday, February 4th, 2011 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, February 5th, 2011 at 3:00 pm at Fair Haven Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carol Mullins officiating. A reception will follow in the Garden View Reception Room. Interment in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations in Dennis' memory may be made to the Wesleyan Church, The Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation or the charity of the donor's choice.
