We regret to announce the passing of Allaine MacIntyre of Bridgeport, formerly of Sterling Road, Glace Bay, on July 6, 2009 at the Glace Bay Healthcare Centre.
Born in Glace Bay on March 8, 1949, she was the cherished daughter of the late Rannie and Allena (Cathcart) MacIntyre. She was a member of St. Leo’s parish, Glace Bay.
Allaine was a school teacher by profession, one of the greatest joys of her life, having taught at various schools in Glace Bay, retiring in 2006.
Allaine is survived by and will be lovingly remembered by her Aunt Remegius Anderson and by her many cousins as a kind and generous person with a huge heart for helping others. Also surviving is her childhood friend, Mary O’Connell, who provided Allaine with much love, care and support, during her terminal illness.
She was predeceased by her parents, Rannie and Allena (Cathcart) MacIntyre.
There will be no visitation. Funeral mass will be held Friday, July 10, 2009 at 11 a.m. at St. Leo’s Church with Fr. Leo Boone officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
