Willena I. (MacKay) Heger passed away Feb. 2, 2011, at the South Shore Hospital at the age of 83.
Born in Newton, she was raised in Nova Scotia and had lived most of her life in Weymouth. Willena retired after 32 years with New England Telephone, starting as an operator and retiring as a regional New England manager.
She enjoyed reading and was a volunteer at the MSPCA and Sun Coast Hospice, both in Florida.
Beloved wife of Kenneth W. Heger; mother of Kenneth W. Heger Jr. of Los Angeles, Calif., Robert C. Heger of Tucson, Ariz. and Kathleen A. Heger-Rivera of Weymouth. Grandmother of Arianne Lozan, Shonna Lozan, Jennifer Heger, Deb Duxbury, Robert Heger and William Heger. Also survived by four great-grandchildren.
Visitation and funeral mass will take place in Massachusetts.
