It is with great sadness that the family of the late John (Jack) Allen announce his passing on February 3, 2011, at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 88 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children: Marlene Kennedy (Bert), Ontario, Derek Allen (Delores), Halfway Point, Wallace Allen (Bev), Ontario, Doug Allen, Corner Brook, Glenys Park (Fred), McIvers, Linda Park (Arch), McIvers, Bill Allen (Sylvia), Corner Brook, Elizabeth Anstey (Frank), Mount Moriah, Baxter Allen (Gaye), Ontario, Gloria Lavers (Joe), Ontario, and Byron Allen (Louise), Meadows; 18 grandchildren; 16 great- grandchildren; sisters: Sophie Bartlett, Corner Brook and Audrey Collins, Corner Brook as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his wife of 67 years Marion N. Allen on January 25, 2010, his parents John and Francis Allen, daughter Baby Gloria, great grandchildren Baby Baxter Park and Baby Alexander Park, daughter-in-law Dianne Allen; sisters and brothers and their spouses: Lilly Porter (Herb), Eva Leggo (Jack), Winnie Hilliard (Hayward), Maria Young (Richard), Lena Simms (Cameron), Robert Allen (Mary), Beattie Bartlett, Nina Rock (Thomas) and Johnny Collins; his sisters and brothers- in-law: Eva Jenkins (George), Maude Ledrew (Abe), Ella Curtis (Joe), Chesley Doman (Vera), Gerald Doman (Eunice), Kenneth Doman (Evelyn), and George Doman. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street, on Saturday 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Monday, February 7, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary The Virgin Anglican Church in Curling with Reverend Karen Laldin officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to St. Mary's Anglican Church, Curling. The family guest book may be signed or a memorial donation may be made through our website www.fillatre.ca
