Elinore Russon
It is with great sadness that the family of Elinore Jean (Brooks) Russon announce her death on Thursday February 3, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in the village of Gagetown on December 3, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Beverly R. and Sarah (Duncan) Brooks and was a graduate of Gagetown Grammar School. Her interests were many and varied: she loved flowers, plants and all creatures great and small, playing board games and cards; she was a devoted homemaker, a talented seamstress, and her family was her joy. She was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, Charles E. Russon, in March of 1994, and two infant daughters, and by several sisters and brothers. She is survived by her son Edwin of Quispamsis; grandson Dwight; one brother Frank Brooks of Fredericton, NB. She is also survived by her niece/goddaughter Beverly Russon Colpitts and her husband Robert Colpitts of Hampton. "Nonnie" will be forever remembered by special great niece Andrea Colpitts Gallant of Fredericton and great nephews Michael Colpitts of Saint John and Adam Colpitts of Whistler, BC. Also surviving are very special great-grandchildren Charlotte Colpitts and Brooke Gallant. Elinore had numerous nieces and nephews and was especially close to her niece Gail Russon Morin of Dalhousie, nephews Gerald Russon and Neil Russon of Fredericton; and the late Albert (Ted) Russon of Baden, ON. A memorial service and interment will take place in Gagetown at a later date. Memorial donations made to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, Saint John (646-2424). www.fundyfuneralhome.com
