MINGO, G. Anita - 81, Tatamagouche. It is with profound sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing on Tuesday afternoon, February 1, 2011, at Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche. Born August 19, 1929, in River John, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Annie (Thompson) Shannon and was also predeceased by her loving husband, Lynwood Mingo. Anita will be sadly missed by her partner, Murray Spencer and will be very much missed by her daughter, Lynn (Steve) Godfrey; son, David (Wendy) Mingo; grandchildren, Jason (Jennifer) Godfrey, Melissa (Chris) Godfrey, Shannon Mingo, Chandelle Mingo; great grandchildren, Spencer and Trentyn Godfrey; sister, Jean Mingo; brother, Leo (Alma) Shannon; several nieces and nephews. Anita lived in Hamilton for approximately 35 years and had a successful career as a Real Estate Agent. In Nova Scotia, she operated her own Bed and Breakfast along with a craft shop. She was a very energetic and vibrant woman who touched many lives. Anita had a great love for her many horses, and also enjoyed completing many beautiful hooked rugs that will remain as precious keepsakes in the family. Very special thanks to the excellent care given to Mom by the nurses at the hospital and also a special thanks to Donna Dickson, Martha Underwood and Dr. Glasgow. A graveside service will be held at Cape John Cemetery, River John in the summer of this year. If so desired, donations in Anita's memory to Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital are welcomed.
